JOSH SIMPSON - A GLASS BLOWER | Short Film, 2022

A Film by Dylan Law

“I’ve made my whole life out of trying to use fire and heat to melt sand and soda ash and lime, just minerals you can mine out of the earth - and When they’re mixed together, you could leave them for hundreds of years and they’ll never change. but if you add 2,300 degrees of heat it makes this unbelievably beautiful material that flows, and drips like honey. “

Dylan Law follows world renowned glass artist josh simpson for a ride along in his western Massachusetts studio - gaining insight into how this master craftsman sees his work, as well as a look behind the scenes into his unique approach to working with material.
